One Day Retreats for Bereaved Dads are held on Saturdays. These retreats are usually held at the While We’re Waiting Refuge in Hot Springs, Arkansas, but are occasionally held in other locations.
Every Dad who comes will be given the opportunity to share about his son or daughter who is in Heaven. He can share as much or as little as he likes, and no one will be required to share if he is uncomfortable. We will also spend time talking about the issues we face every day as grieving Dads. A variety of topics will be presented, and the group will choose which ones we will discuss.
We will do also do some outdoor activities, such as skeet shooting, fishing in the pond, and playing horseshoes. We’ll spend some time relaxing around our fire pit, and eat lots of good food.
The Dads’ Day will begin at 9:00 on Saturday morning and will conclude by approximately 6:30 p.m. For men who are traveling in from out of town, lodging will be available at no charge at the While We’re Waiting Refuge for both Friday and Saturday nights, if needed.
We believe you will, too. We also believe that life-long friendships will be formed as we support and encourage one another in a way that no one else can. Our groups are intentionally, with a maximum of ten dads at each event.
