retreat facilitators Austin & Valerie DeArmond

Valerie and Austin K. DeArmond have been married since June 2015. They are parents to two children: Addison, their spunky and creative daughter who was adopted, and Gabriel, their beloved son who is now in the care of Jesus after a complex febrile seizure and human error took his life in January 2023. Austin works as an oral Bible translation consultant, helping to make God’s Word accessible in oral cultures, while Valerie is a dedicated stay-at-home mom who babysits their precious niece. Together, they love the Lord, the local church, and His Word, finding strength and joy in their faith. They also enjoy hiking, spending quality time with family and friends, and living as a testament to God’s grace through seasons of profound grief and abundant love.
