Our Mini-Retreats for Bereaved Moms are one-day events typically held on Saturdays. Moms who attend will be treated to a day of pampering, delicious food, and some much-needed fellowship with other bereaved, but believing, Moms. Each event is beautifully decorated according to the season of the year. We have found so much comfort from drawing near to other women of faith who understand what it is like to lose a child. We believe you will, too. We also believe that life-long friendships will be formed as we support and encourage one another in a way that no one else can. Our groups are small and intimate, with a maximum of ten moms at each event. There is no cost to attend one of these events.
Come, knowing you will be surrounded by people who care, who understand, and who will pray for you. This will be a safe place, a place where we can honestly discuss our struggles, knowing we will not be judged, because every one of us has been there at one time or another. We will also share our victories, and rejoice with each other as we move along the road toward healing.
This While We’re Waiting Mini-Retreat for Bereaved Moms is hosted at the beautiful home of Dr. and Mrs. Jeremy Timmer in Pineville, Louisiana. This one-day event will begin at 9:00 am (CT) and wrap up around 6:00 pm. A delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner are included, and there is no cost to attend. Lodging is not provided for this event, though there are hotels nearby if needed. Susan’s son, Chad, ran ahead to Heaven on May 12, 2011, at the age
of 24. After returning home as an Army Veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Chad
struggled with PTSD and a battle with drug addiction, which ultimately led to his
untimely death.
Susan and her husband, Tommy, are both retired and, together, they find joy in serving others
through their church and various ministries. They also love spending time with
their son, Jason, and three beautiful grandchildren, Makayla, Jace, and Brooklyn.
Tommy and Susan are co-facilitators of the first While We’re Waiting Support
Group in Louisiana, established in March of 2023. Even with their own burden of
grief and loss, Tommy and Susan are choosing to be a beacon of hope and light to
those who are still wandering in darkness. John 1:5.
Our retreats are 100% free, though we do accept a voluntary donation at the close of the retreat.
