Our While We’re Waiting Dads’ Days are one-day events held on Saturdays at various times throughout the year.
These events are held at the While We’re Waiting Refuge in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Every Dad who comes will be given the opportunity to share about his son or daughter who is in Heaven. He can share as much or as little as he likes, and no one will be required to share if he is uncomfortable. We will also spend time talking about the issues we face every day as grieving Dads. A variety of topics will be presented, and the group will choose which ones we will discuss.
We will do also do some outdoor activities, such as skeet shooting, fishing in the pond, and playing horseshoes. We’ll spend some time relaxing around our fire pit, and eat lots of good food.
The Dads’ Day will begin at 9:00 on Saturday morning and will conclude by approximately 6:30 p.m. For men who are traveling in from out of town, lodging will be available at no charge at the While We’re Waiting Refuge for both Friday and Saturday nights, if needed.
There is no cost for our Dads’ Days; however, a voluntary love offering will be received to help offset the expenses of hosting these events.
Registration is limited, and preference is given to Dads who have not attended an event previously. If your preferred date is full, we will be happy to place you on a waiting list and will notify you if a spot comes available.
